Automation Plastics specializes in precision manufacturing and innovative solutions for our clients. We're seeking a skilled Injection Mold Maker to join our team, where you'll play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and fabricating molds to ensure efficient production and top-quality results.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and fabrication for new and existing tooling.
  • Collaborate with the Tooling Engineer and/or Toolroom Manager to analyze and repair simple to moderately complex molds.
  • Plan and fabricate cavity-forming components with precision and attention to detail.
  • Operate all mold-making equipment effectively, specializing in at least one area.
  • Disassemble and reassemble tooling to verify dimensions and functionality.
  • Follow the "8-Stages of Systematic Mold Maintenance" process to ensure optimal results.
  • Maintain accurate records of mold maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to 5S standards for housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Assist in estimating, planning, and completing assigned work efficiently.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring customer requirements are met and maintain assigned SPA (Single Point of Accountability) areas.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience:
    • Technical school (2-year program) and/or at least 5 years of relevant experience and training.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and apply advanced mathematical concepts, including geometry and trigonometry.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and reasoning skills.
    • Familiarity with injection molds, processing, and reading part/assembly drawings.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and use hands and fingers.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Requires good vision (close, color, peripheral, and depth perception), correctable to 20x40.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and holidays as needed.
